Our Standards

Commitment to Design Quality through ISO 9001

DSL’s electronic design division operates under a rigorous ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System, reflecting our longstanding dedication since 1995 to process excellence and customer satisfaction. Every project undergoes systematic planning, regular internal reviews and continuous improvement cycles, ensuring traceability from initial specification through prototype validation to final design delivery. Our quality approach guarantees designs meet or exceed client requirements, including compliance with EMC, temperature, and vibration standards, securing both immediate functionality and long-term reliability.

Commitment to Design Quality through ISO 9001

Transparent Collaborative Process

We maintain open communication and active client involvement at every design stage. Detailed project plans, collaboratively developed design specifications and approval checkpoints for schematics and PCB layouts ensure alignment with your goals. Our fast-turn prototyping and in-house environmental testing capabilities allow early identification of potential issues and refinement before production. Upon completion, all design files, including schematics, PCB artwork, BOM, and IP, are formally handed over with a comprehensive post-project performance review.

Environmental Objectives

Protecting the environment is a core objective woven into our design and operational practices. We implement robust environmental programs focused on:

  • Minimising the environmental impact of all design activities, including energy consumption and material usage.
  • Reducing and preventing pollution throughout the product lifecycle, starting at the design phase by optimising for energy efficiency and waste minimisation.
  • Driving continuous improvement in environmental performance by regularly reviewing and updating our eco-design methodologies and supplier partnerships.
  • Promoting environmental best practices among our employees, suppliers and clients, ensuring responsible sourcing and lifecycle management.

This commitment to environmental objectives reflects DSL’s broad corporate responsibility efforts to integrate sustainability into every facet of the electronic design process.

Comprehensive Industry Standards

DSL’s electronic design operates within a framework of internationally recognised standards, ensuring the highest quality, safety, and reliability for all designs. Our commitment includes:

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System

We maintain an ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System that drives rigorous process control, continuous improvement and documented traceability at every stage of design. This system guarantees consistency and customer satisfaction in all projects.

IPC CID+ Certification for Design Engineers

All DSL design engineers are extensively trained and certified to the IPC CID+ (Certified Interconnect Designer Advanced) standards. This certification is globally recognised as a benchmark of proficiency in PCB and circuit design, covering essential areas such as material selection, electrical parameter control, advanced layout techniques, design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testing (DFT), design for assembly (DFA), and EMC considerations.

EMC, Thermal, and Vibration Standards Compliance

Our designs strictly adhere to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations, ensuring devices function correctly without interference. We also validate thermal management and mechanical vibration resistance according to relevant industry standards to guarantee product reliability in real-world operating environments.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management

We select suppliers who conform to ISO 14001 environmental standards and embed sustainability into our development process. DSL’s design philosophy emphasises energy efficiency, waste reduction, and support for WEEE-compliant recycling, upholding a responsible environmental impact across the product lifecycle.

Safety and Electrical Standards

We ensure full compliance with applicable IEC and EN safety standards to protect users and meet regulatory requirements across industries. Design reviews include assessments for electrical safety, hazard mitigation, and conformity with sector-specific regulations.

By embracing these rigorous standards, DSL guarantees that every electronic design project meets stringent technical benchmarks, regulatory mandates and sustainability goals, resulting in reliable, innovative products fully aligned with our clients’ expectations and industry best practices.
